Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 15, 2026
Berean Study (“the Service”) is an AI-powered Bible study tool. This Privacy Policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short.
What we collect
- Account information. Email address (and optionally phone number, display name) you provide when signing in.
- Your study activity. The questions you ask, the answers the AI returns, and which conversations you save. Stored under your account in Firebase Firestore.
- Usage metrics. Aggregate counts of questions asked so we can enforce subscription limits and improve the Service.
- Payment information. If you subscribe, Stripe processes payment on our behalf. We do not store full card numbers; we store a customer reference and subscription status.
- Standard request data. IP address, browser type, and timestamps are recorded in server logs for security and debugging.
How we use it
- To provide the Service: process your questions, return answers, and bill subscriptions.
- To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse.
- To improve the Service via aggregate, non-identifying analysis.
- To respond when you contact support.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your data. We do not show third-party advertising.
Who we share with
We use the following processors. Each is bound by their own privacy commitments:
- Google / Firebase. Hosts the Service, authenticates accounts, and stores your data.
- OpenAI. Your questions are sent to OpenAI's API to generate answers. OpenAI's API terms state that API content is not used to train models by default.
- Stripe. Processes payments for paid subscriptions.
We disclose data to law enforcement only as required by valid legal process.
Your choices
- Access & export. Email hello@churchnet.app to request a copy of your data.
- Deletion. Sign in, go to Account, or email us. We delete account data within 30 days of request, except where required by law to retain (e.g., billing records).
- Cookies / local storage. We use them for sign-in sessions and to remember your source preferences. The Service does not function without sign-in cookies.
Children
The Service is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, email hello@churchnet.app and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in-app.
